Basic Information About the Program
GED® Programme
At Bridge Edu Centre, we offer the internationally recognised GED® Curriculum (General Education Development), designed for students aged 16 years and older who are seeking an alternative pathway to further education and future career opportunities.
The GED® programme consists of four subjects:
Reasoning Through Language Arts (English)
Mathematical Reasoning
Science
Social Studies
Each subject is tested separately, allowing students to complete the programme at their own pace while building confidence throughout their academic journey. The assessments focus on essential skills such as reading comprehension, writing, mathematical reasoning, scientific understanding, and social studies knowledge.
Our online learning programme provides students with structured academic support, guidance, and personalised assistance from qualified tutors committed to helping each learner achieve success.
Students attend online classes from Monday to Thursday, with Fridays dedicated to assessments and test preparation. Regular breaks are incorporated throughout the day to promote focused and effective learning.
Assessment and Examination
Before writing their final examinations, students complete pre-testing and preparation assessments to ensure they are fully prepared and confident.
Final GED® examinations are written through authorised GED® testing centers.
Recognition of the GED®
The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) has evaluated the GED® and identified the National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) as its closest comparable qualification.
Upon completion of the GED® programme, South African graduates may apply to SAQA for a Certificate of Evaluation. Each application is assessed individually to determine the appropriate National Qualifications Framework (NQF) recognition level for the qualification.
Further Study Opportunities
The GED® qualification opens doors to a wide range of further study opportunities both locally and internationally.
Internationally, the GED® is offered in more than 85 countries and is accepted by nearly all universities in the United States, as well as many institutions worldwide. Accredited institutions such as University of the People accept the GED® for admission into many of their programmes, including degree studies.
Within South Africa, a number of private tertiary institutions accept the GED® for admission into various qualifications and degree programmes, including Boston City Campus, STADIO, and Academy of Interactive Entertainment.
Enrolment
Registration is open throughout the year, allowing students to begin their studies at a time that best suits their individual needs and goals.
